Newsflash - The O.C. has now been picked up for 25 episodes this season, returning on October 29th in a NEW timeslot - Wednesdays at 9pm (not Thursdays at 9pm, as was previously scheduled). Kudos to the cast, producers, crew, and FANS - it's a hit!
Also, this June marked the release of The John Cheever Audio Collection, a collection of Cheever stories narrated by the likes of Peter, Meryl Streep, Edward Herrmann, Blythe Danner, George Plimpton, and John Cheever himself. The CD has received rave reviews (with a lineup like that, it's hard to go wrong). Peter narrates two stories, The Brigadier and the Golf Widow and O Youth and Beauty!
You can purchase the collection online at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble.com, or any other online sellar...

Thoughts from Peter - While the show is on hiatus during the baseball playoffs and world series, we are still hard at work continuing to shoot the full season. We have a lot of great episodes coming up. This week we've been working on the Thanksgiving episode and it has been a lot of fun.
Beginning October 11, the Oxygen network will be airing their first original movie called "A Tale of Two Wives." We shot the movie in Vancouver, BC and London, England. I star in the movie with Cheryl Hines from "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and Dervla Kerwin, a well known Irish actress who works a lot on stage and in the movies in England. The title should give you a good clue to what the film is about.
From the beginning, The O.C. has been and continues to be a wonderful experience. My new manager urged me to think about doing more television work and suggested I sit down with some of the people who cast the shows. It was a great idea. After a really nice meeting with the head of casting at the Fox network, Marcia Shulman, whom I hadn't seen in way too many years, she said there was a script she'd like to send me. She sent the script, it was The O.C., and I loved it.
I flew out to Los Angeles and met with Josh Schwartz, the writer and executive producer and his partner in the show, the film director McG. We all got along great and then I met with the network heads and executives and that went very well and I was offered the role of "Sandy Cohen," which I very happily accepted.
The process which could've been brutal was anything but, and I was the first fortunate actor to join the cast.
Since then, we've now shot over 11 episodes and the scripts continue to be great - and I love working with the cast and crew. Our directors have been terrific. Doug Liman (one of our executive producers, who directed "Go" and "Swingers" and "The Bourne Identitiy") directed the pilot and the first episode, and helped establish the style and tone of the show. It's been a real pleasure working with many of the other directors as well.
For an actor, the most important thing is a good script, and it helps a lot if there is an audience for it. The O.C. has provided us with plenty of both, and it makes for a truly remarkable experience.
