Notes
This was my first movie, and one I'm still
very proud to have been a part of. I played Caesare, a young
kid from the Bronx who is transformed into a teen idol by
Vincent Vaccari, played by the late Ray Sharkey. It was based
on the true story of Robert Marcucci, who discovered Fabian
and Frankie Avalon.
The time I spent as Danny
Zuko in the original production of Grease not too long before
turned out to be a good preparation for all the singing and
dancing I had to do in this movie. Of course, after The Idolmaker's
release, the question I was most often asked was, "Who
did all your singing and dancing?"
"Baby" was Caesare's
debut.
"However Dark The Night" was
an homage to Elvis in his own backyard, and featured the amazing
James Cleveland Choir of gospel singers.
