Notes
"Psychoderelict" was a workshop of a
Pete Townshend idea for the stage. This was probably
the best role I've ever had in a musical, and one of the coolest
projects I've ever been involved with. It was a tiny workshop
with brilliant musicians and cast, and only half a dozen or
so people saw it for one night only, in a studio.
I had the great privilege to meet and work with
Pete Townshend, of The Who, one of the greatest contemporary
rock composers, and one who has a great interest in the theatre.
He also wrote "Tommy," as well as some of the greatest
songs of my generation.
"Psychderelict" is the story of
Ray High, a famous and fairly derelict rock star who is beginning
to put his life back together. There's a lot more to it than
that, but it gives you an idea. It was funny, too. I'm not sure
how the recording got made; it's not great quality, but it's
great to have a record of it.
